The Higher French course provides candidates with the opportunity to develop skills
in reading, listening, talking, and writing; to use different media effectively for
learning and communication; to develop understanding of how language works; and
to use language to communicate ideas and information.
There are three units of study:
Unit 1: Society and Culture
Unit 2: Learning and Culture
Unit 3: Employability and Culture
The course consists of 24 SCQF credit points which includes time for preparation for course assessment. The notional length of time for candidates to complete the course is 160 hours. Students undertaking this qualification are advised to commit to 4-6 hours of study per week.
